Deer Rifle/Slug Gun Shoot

This annual event is for whitetail-appropriate centerfire rifles and, for the first time this year, shotguns firing rifled slugs. Any sights may be used.

The target is a more-or-less life size paper buck deer with scoring bonuses for hitting "vital areas." Shooters fire one-at-a-time in various hunting scenarios including simulated tree stand shots, leaning on "trees" and the infamous "disappearing deer" shot, with a new timing wrinkle this year.

Deer hunting stories are encouraged, as is hunting-appropriate clothing. It's just like deer camp without the monotony.
