Each fall Berwyn Rod and Gun Club Inc. (BRGC) hosts Maryland Department of Natural Resources Hunter Safety Education classes. These classes are taught by some of the most experienced instructors in Maryland. Our Maryland Hunter Safety program is nicely complemented by BRGC’s Hunter Safety Trail (a rambling half mile walk though the clubs eleven plus acre grounds). All students who pass this class are issued a Maryland Hunter Safety Certificate.

BRGC hosts Maryland DNR Shooter Qualification sessions. These sessions enable Maryland hunters to earn a proficiency certificate for managed hunting programs conducted by various local, state, and federal agencies. BRGC offers proficiency testing for muzzleloaders and shotguns.

BRGC has once again started offering public sight-in events. These events allow members of the public to prepare for hunting season by ensuring the firearms to be used are properly sighted in. BRGC members are on hand to assist in this process for those hunters who want or need such assistance and advice.

BRGC has an active youth marksmanship program. This program is available to interested and eligible youth in the area. There is no charge to eligible participants. Club membership is not a requirement. Please check out the Juniors Program page for additional details and contact information.

The club opens its facilities to Scouts, ROTC and other groups in the area who need use of a range for firearm and archery instruction. The Club holds an annual Food Drive for the Bowie Food Pantry in conjunction with its Disabled American Veterans Post host. The Club holds an annual Toys for Tots toy drive in conjunction with its Disabled American Veterans Post host.
